Financial Aid Basic Information

Financial Aid Application

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online.  The FAFSA collects financial data and other information that is used to calculate the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) that ultimately determines a student's eligibilty for aid.

Step 2: After you have completed your FAFSA, MHGS will recieve an electronic copy which will allow us to determine what type of aid you are eligible for.  At the graduate level students are eligible for the following types of aid.

Types of Aid Available:

1. Federal Direct Subsidized Loans

2. Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loans

3. Federal Work Study

4. Federal Direct Graduate Plus Loan

5. MHGS Internal Scholarships


All financial-aid recipients must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a citizen of the United States or an eligible non-citizen
  • Have a high-school diploma or GED
  • Have a valid Social Security number
  • Be enrolled in an eligible degree program with at least four or more credits
  • Not owe a repayment on a grant or be in default on a student loan
  • Have financial need as determined by the Federal Need Analysis — this comes from your processed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
